On January 9th, during the 95th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, Men’s Fashion Director of Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus Bruce Pask kicked off the first Rendez-Vous lecture of the year, merging his expertise in menswear with a close look at the world of luxury wares and the new men’s fashion consumer.

Pask is applauded worldwide for his dual talent: that of shopping for himself–crowned a true street style sensation–and knowing exactly what his customer wants to buy. After three years at Bergdorf Goodman, which he joined in 2014, the style master expanded his responsibilities to include Neiman Marcus, becoming the leading figure in the men’s fashion area for both businesses.

Now at the top of the racks, Pask, however, boasts a background in editorial serving as a fashion editor and stylist at notable publications for two decades – from T Magazine: The New York Times Style Magazine to GQ and Cargo Magazine. His styling and costume work with Annie Leibovitz landed numerous covers and celebrity features in Vanity Fair throughout the years, while his freelance work included campaigns for prestigious clients, the likes of “The Sopranos” and American Express.

As a costume designer, Pask received an Emmy Honors award for work on the 2010 Kennedy Center Honors television broadcast, in addition to the co-costume design with Julie Weiss for the 85th and 86th Annual Academy Awards. From runways and campaigns to the epic three-tiered NYC Bergdorf store, his latest venture includes curating a shop at Bergdorf Goodman, which he plans to discuss with the Polimoda Rendez-Vous crowd in the context of customer targetization, design, merchandising and marketing.

Pask represents an active industry figure possessing both the know-how of design and a deep understanding of how to modernize today’s retail experience. With decades of experience and direct involvement in Pitti Uomo, the figurehead is set to engage in a Q&A with fashion journalist Beatrice Campani, who together will discuss the inner workings and shifting trends in menswear today.
