A bit more Disassembly - removing the gear

I took my cordless drill apart when it stopped working and found the motor was faulty. It might be possible to source a replacement motor but it probably would not come with a matching gear on the shaft so I thought it would be best to remove the existing one from the old motor shaft.

If you cannot afford or cannot find a suitable gear puller, you need to place a strong slotted bar between the gear and the motor. Support that bar so the motor is hanging free, then tap the shaft through the gear.
