After nearly 5 months of rehab, love, and persistence, our black-shouldered kite has officially returned to the wild 🙌

This incredible bird came in after a collision with a milk tanker, suffering severe head trauma and a damaged wing. We tried four times to release him each attempt a little stronger, a little closer. And now, success 🕊️

I’ll miss those vibrant red eyes staring into my soul — not so much the talons carving up my forearms 😅 Nature’s design is truly something else.

Bird rehab is brutal. Their hollow bones, high stress, and fragility mean we lose more than we win. So when a release like this works — especially with a mature bird that already knows how to survive — it’s a moment to celebrate 🎉

White Faced Heron
We released the white-faced heron and somehow this feathered bandit keeps finding his way back like a GPS-guided missile 😂🕊️ He’s obsessed with banging on our windows, raiding the farm, and causing absolute chaos.
