In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, to Lakes Entrance Victoria, Australia. We camped at Prime Pet-Friendly Tourist Park, which I show you around in this episode. Lakes Entrance is only a 4-hour drive from the CBD of Melbourne, and roughly halfway to Merimbula on the NSW Sapphire Coast.

On this getaway, my brother Leigh, sister-in-law, Kristin and a couple of friends join us. Leigh brings along their Jayco caravan and our friends Laura and Rob test out their new La Vista caravan.

For dinner one night, Leigh and Kristin show us how to make beer battered gummy fish and flathead tales. We buy the fish fresh straight off the boat in Lakes Entrance.

Below lists the places we visited in this episode.

• Lakes Entrance Victoria, Australia
• Prime Pet-Friendly Tourist Park
• Wyanga Park Winery
• The Servo Lakes Entrance
• Lakes Entrance Fishermen’s Co-op
• Big Bear doughnuts Lakes entrance
• Chocky Sweet Box
• Six Sisters & A Pigeon

Lakes Entrance is a coastal town in eastern Victoria, Australia. It's known for the Gippsland Lakes, a vast system of inland waterways. There is a pedestrian bridge to Ninety Mile Beach, which stretches along the town's Tasman Sea shoreline. Wildlife around the beach and lakes includes kangaroos, pelicans and dolphins.

Prime Pet-Friendly Tourist Park Lakes Entrance, is a family-owned and operated holiday park, where the owners love dogs. This park is recently child-free. If your interested in music, dogs, boats or travel, then you will enjoy a yarn with the owners around the fire pit or in the pool, as they enjoy spending time with their Guests. If you are searching for a childless, pet friendly, clean and friendly boutique-style Park, then consider staying at Prime. Guests love that they are only 300 metres from the centre of town & the footbridge to the 90 mile beach, so all the attractions and features of Lakes Entrance are just a short walk away. The park is very quiet at night due to being set back from the main highway, and also more protected from the wind than other Parks nearby.

Whilst visiting Lakes Entrance, we enjoyed lunch at Wyanga Park Winery. This is family owned and operated winery and restaurant close to town. They offer casual, no-pressure wine tasting, comfort food and a relaxed, rustic bush setting. Perfect for lazy lunches, cheeky afternoon wines, weddings, Christmas parties or even a leisurely cruise.

We kicked back and relaxed at The Servo in Lakes Entrance to enjoy some local musos and drinks. The Servo is located opposite the footbridge in the heart of town. They have authentic Mexican tacos (amongst other meals), perfect for sharing with friends or family, you can even bring your pet dog.

We hope you enjoy our channel. We often get asked, ‘what is vanlife?’ Van life is a lifestyle of living in a vehicle full or part-time. The names are compound words that derive from the fact that it is typically done in a van that has been modified with basic amenities, such as house batteries, solar panels, a bed platform, some form of toilet, sink, and storage space. Some van-dwellers live this lifestyle by choice while seeking freedom, self-sufficiency, and mobility without paying for conventional stationary housing, while for others it may be one step from living on the street or in a shelter. Although the term van-dwelling implies living in a van, many types of vehicles may be used for permanent, mobile living arrangements, including former public buses or school buses, campervans, recreational vehicles (RVs), travel trailers, mobile homes, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and cars.

We enjoy part-time van-life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla. In our episodes we stay at free and paid campsites, showing our tips and tricks on how to make life on the road easier and fun. Come join us on our adventures!
