The Vaderin HP-X is a finely honed, no-nonsense take on the venerable harmonic percolator fuzz circuit. It has been expertly tuned for stability, ease of use, and pedalboard friendliness. Besides the classic Harmonics and Balance control knobs, it also features a 3-way clipping switch, offering asymmetrical germanium diode clipping to the left, all-silicon transistor diode lift in the middle, and symmetrical silicon diode clipping to the right. This offers a huge range of sounds, from detailed overdrive, to chunky distortion, and blown-out fuzz meltdown. In this demo I take the HP-X on a stoner-inflected noise rock journey into the abyss with some assistance from my friend Stefan PÖtzsch on drums, then I turn the knobs, flip the switches, and get into the functional side of things.
