The University of British Columbia’s Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM) is an accelerated, 9-month, professional master’s degree program that provides essential training in the use and application of geospatial tools used to plan, develop, manage, and evaluate programs to protect and regulate natural habitats and renewable natural resources.

In this video, hear how a former MGEM student applied the skills and knowledge gained from the program to her career as a GIS analyst and ecologist. With exposure to many different technologies she had the confidence to adapt and grow with the changing world of Geomatics. She discusses how MGEM prepared her for her job by providing a combination of real-world application and coursework in remote sensing, programming and project management.
