4th installation Ceremony of Rotary Club of Colombo Port City - 20 July 2024!

4th installation ceremony of Rotary Colombo Port City was held on 20th of July 2024 from 7 PM onwards at Elevate by JETWING. The main purpose of the event was the ceremonial induction of the 4th President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Port City, Rtn. Michael Jayawardana and the club’s new Board, as the club unfolds yet another extraordinary chapter in its impactful legacy.

The event was well attended by over two hundred distinguished guests, where Rotary District Governor for Rotary International District 3220 - Sri Lanka & Maldives, Rtn. Sushena Ranathunga who graced the event as the chief guest and HE Mr. KATSUKI Kotaro, the Deputy head of mission for the Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka attended the event as the Guest of Honour.

Rotary Colombo Port City was founded in the year 2021 with the vision of creating a modern Rotary club setting that brings together professionals from varied backgrounds and disciplines. The objective is to push positive change in society while providing a platform for networking and business realization.

In his acceptance speech as the 4th President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Port City, Rtn. Michael Jayawardana highlighted his vision on creating an environment of inclusiveness within the club to any professional who wants to commence a journey of ‘fellowship through service’ in Rotary.

The Installation saw the symbolical launch of project #HealingMinds, a national fundraising project to touch 2,000 lives and create awareness on Mental Wellbeing which also includes establishing the first Rotary Mental Wellness Center for the Public as well as renovating a new Mental Health wing for the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine - University of Colombo.
