Today I am demonstrating how to tie-dye a Flaming Flower pattern on a t-shirt using the ice dye method. This is a step by step tie-dye tutorial video where I cover the entire process starting with the folding and drawing of our flower outline pattern on to the shirt. Once the design is on the shirt, I then tie off the design using sinew, and proceed to scrunch and rubber band the rest of the shirt. From there I apply the procion dye powders directly on top of the shirt, and then ice directly on top of the procion dye powders. To finish up I first let the shirt sit undisturbed for 24 hours, then give it a good rinse, and after that jump right on into the reveal of our new tie-dye Flaming Flower pattern t-shirt. ***Before working with procion dyes or any kind of fiber reactive dye please make sure to pay special attention to all labels including directions, warnings, and first aid instructions***. I highly recommend gloves, eye protection, and a respirator or dust mask per these instructions.
