Apparently they don't have beaches in Wyoming where Casper was placed into rescue before finding his way to NorCal Aussie Rescue in Grass Valley, CA where we adopted him (What! No ocean in Wyoming? No wonder they only have 533K population!) . Casper, the blue merle Aussie, is deaf and will be learning commands via hand signals, but his hearing challenges don't seem to be slowing him down any. Chip, the red merle Aussie, has excellent hearing but a few sight challenges (making it hard for him to follow and find his ball in the surf when there's a healthy glare). Both love the beach, where they can hike and swim, and will likely appreciate it even more next time (after their Doggles arrive-- watch for that video which should be amusing). We visit the Albany shoreline, across the bay from San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, almost every Sunday and then recover with an Africano at Caffe Trieste (while the exhausted dogs prefer a less-caffeinated aperitif). Casper is a good buddy 'fit' with Chip and both are fast runners that check in frequently to not stray too far from the herd (us).
