Google Home and Phillips Hue - Setup and Working Together

We take our Google Home home automation device and get it setup and working with the Phillips Hue light bulb and Phillips Hue Bridge. By the end of this tutorial video, you'll be able to turn on your Hue lights with your voice!

This automation video for your home starts off with us connecting the Phillips Hue White Light Bulb with our iPhone through the Hue iOS App. From there, we take you through the app in all its glory and show you how it works with the light we install it in.

We also show you how to install the Hue Bridge in order to ensure your whole Hue system is up and running.

After that, we show you how the Google Home app on iOS doesn't allow us to log in to it using our Google Account. Unfortunately, this means we can't immediately integrate the Hue within Google Home's native application (more on that in another video).

In the end, we use IFTTT (If This Then That) to connect our Google Home and our Hue White Light Bulb and our Hue Bridge and then go about turning on and off the light with our voice!

We also show you the capability of the Hue application to set up rooms and also to turn on and off those rooms based on a number of factors. This includes your personal location, timers, time of day, and many other factors.

We hope you like our Automation video and we hope it helps you Automate Your Life!
