Today in this video I will show you about the history of "Nilgiri Palace" and dynasty.
About this video :
The state of Nilgiris was part of the state of Orissa under the British-administered Eastern State Agency and its capital was at Nilgiris.
The state was bordered by Mayurbhanj to the north and west and Baleshwar to the south
According to legend, the kingdom was founded in 1125 AD by a visitor from the Chhotanagpur region.
The next rulers of the kingdom are his descendants
When the last king of the kingdom decided to join the Indian Empire in 1949, it was merged with Baleshwar district.
At present the 39th king of Nilgiris is Raja Jayanta Chandra Mardharaja Harichandan.
Nilgiri Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary is surrounded by wilderness, lush green forests and enchanting hills.
Archaeological evidence suggests that the area has been inhabited since the Early Stone Age.
Currently, there are villages of Bhumiza and Madia tribes, both Austro-Asiatic speaking communities.
