One person is dead and another is critically injured after a floatplane crashed on Lake Sammamish Friday morning.

The Bellevue Fire Department (BFD) first posted about the floatplane crash on X, formerly known as Twitter, just after 11:10 a.m. The department said the two people who were on board the plane at the time of the crash were found.

The BFD said the person who survived the crash was taken to the hospital in “critical condition.”
