On day 10 of the war in West Asia, there are still no signs of de-escalation as both sides intensify their military actions. The conflict has also taken a dramatic political turn inside Iran, where Mojtaba Khamenei has been appointed as the country’s new Supreme Leader following the death of his father Ali Khamenei during the war. As casualties rise on all sides and air defence systems remain under constant pressure, diplomatic talks appear unlikely for now, with both Iran and the United States maintaining hardline positions, turning the conflict into a growing regional — and increasingly global — crisis.
