Li Xiangxiang wowed viewers and judges last night to win in the final of "Chinese Idol" at Qizhong Tennis Center in Shanghai.

Li, a 27-year-old pub singer from Anhui Province, impressed the audience and the panel of judges with the song "Luo Ye Gui Gen" and his dancing skills.

Li said he was surprised he won as he didn't think he performed well enough last night.

Tibetan singer Yangjima, also 27, who has been called "goddess" by fans due to her pure and tranquil voice, was the runner-up.

Six contestants competed in the final. Other finalists included the London-born James Morriscotterill, whose mother is Hong Kong Chinese and father British' dynamic pub singer and dancer Ai Fei, melancholic singer Hou Lei, and versatile Kazakh singer Ah Lai.
