“Pieces that come in that I know will be popular include limited edition and runway styles. We have a number of pieces within this auction that are rare and unusual that don't appear at auction very often. And when something is rare and people don't know when they're going to see it again, that's when you really capture the attention of collectors, and you see very high prices achieved.”

“Hermès leads the secondary market for handbags because of the way that the handbags are created. They've been created by expert craftsmen in workshops in Pantin for over 100 years. They're crafted using the double needle saddle stitch, which is a stitch that cannot be replicated by a machine. It's the highest quality materials. And in addition to that, the models are many, many decades old."

“Many clients truly love these handbags. They're utilitarian objects. They want to use them. There are some collectors that prefer to see these wonderful, fashion objects as works of art, and they'll display them in their home, and they'll build incredible closets where they can view their collection, and they can really get joy from them in a different way.”

“The secondary market is the fastest growing part of the fashion industry, and there's absolutely room for many players at all different price points, selling different pieces. We're seeing that younger collectors are extremely interested in sustainability and having many sources in order to purchase something, where you, you know that there's resale value and you know that it has been created in an ethical way. It is absolutely very important for the for the future of the fashion world.”
