A full interview with Dal from the Helium team on Helium Validators. In the interview we go over the requirements of running a node, what the purpouse of nodes are and why they have been introduced into the Helium eco system.

Personally I think running a node is a big responsability, but it will improve the quality of the network and therefore secure the future of the network. On top of that there is a nice opportunity to get a good APY on your HNT if you where planning to hold on to it anyway. Of course you have to be carefull when running your own node so you secure this investment. You can of course outsource it, but that means you have to trust and external company with your HNT as Helium themselves does not offer pooling.

Additionally there is a 5 month cooldown period, which means you can stake 100 HNT today and pull it out of a pool tomorrow.
