The Problems with Traditional Boilers

Traditional steam boilers emit significant amounts of pollutants, including nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter (PM). These emissions contribute to air pollution, which can cause respiratory problems, cardiovascular diseases, and other health issues. Moreover, these traditional boilers rely highly on fossil fuels, leading to excessive carbon emissions and, consequently, climate change. Since industrialisation has been at the core of climate change and industries generate energy through these boilers, this becomes a supercritical area to address.

Foundation of SteamHouse
SteamHouse, a venture by Sanjoo Group of Industries, founded in 2014, is a pioneering community boiler system in India, which has been designed to provide a sustainable, cost-effective, and safe alternative for fulfilling the steam requirements of various industries and is addressing the problems associated with traditional steam generation methods.

SteamHouse’s Solution
Through the centralised steam generation method, SteamHouse’s solution reduces the need for individual boilers, minimising emissions and enhancing efficiency. It also uses alternative fuels like biomass briquettes, agro-waste, and municipal solid waste to generate energy reducing the reliance on fossil fuels. Their solution also incorporates the use of IoT and AI for efficient monitoring and control of steam quality and quantities for ensuring optimal performance, not only helping reduce the burden on internal staff and administration but also regulators.

Present Status and Future Direction
Initiating from Sachin GIDC, Gujarat, from commissioning a plant of 5 TPH capacity in 2015, they are now present in Vapi, Ankleshwar, Sarigam, and Nandesari, among other key places in Gujarat with an established capacity of over 300 TPH, serving 100s of customers, generating INR 328 Cr of revenue, ultimately revolutionising the boiler industry for a transition towards sustainability. Their R&D is consistently working towards adding more and more safety features to avoid leakages and high-pressure development. Further, specifically, in the emerging era of industrial parks, their solution serves the fundamental need and supports the global vision for a sustainable future.
Their vision also considers serving both industries and cities alike, potentially bringing a great revolution in public energy utility areas.
