I've been obsessed this year, in a good way, with pranayama breathing techniques, and for some reason this new piano composition was always linked in my mind. Perhaps the relentless, repetitive melody and rhythms of the hands remind me of a frantic mind and the need to stop and observe when we are quickening our breath, when it is shallow and tight, to then let go and remember to breathe deeply and with ease - Breathe like a tortoise and live for 400 years, maybe :)
