13 years ago, we started in a lab at Wits University’s Math Industry Study Group. We were a group of mathematicians who loved solving hard problems, our whiteboards were covered in equations, we were fueled by cheap coffee and everyday we asked companies to give us their toughest challenges. And they did.

We optimized centrifuges for sugar factories to extract every bit of profit. We fixed glass furnaces by modeling thermodynamics to prevent defects. We even helped SAPS place roadblocks strategically to catch criminals.

Today, after 175 projects across industries from healthcare to FMCG, online schools to online casinos, we’re still doing the same thing: solving problems that move the bottom line. With 100 people (including 50 scientists in advanced math, statistics, physics, engineering, and computer science), we turn data into decisions that drive real profit.
