But the color, texture, and smell of discharge can reveal a lot about your health.
🔹 Clear discharge – Completely normal, especially around ovulation, after workouts, or during sexual arousal.
⚪ White discharge – Normal at the start or end of the menstrual cycle. But if it becomes thick, clumpy, and curd-like, it could indicate a yeast infection (often with itching or burning).
Curdy discharge – Curd-like or cottage-cheese consistency usually signals a fungal infection (candidiasis), which may need antifungal treatment.
🟤 Brown discharge – Typically old blood leaving the uterus. Common after your period, but frequent spotting should be checked.
🟡 Yellow or green discharge – Not normal if thick, bright, or foul-smelling. This may point to a bacterial infection or sexually transmitted infection (STI) such as trichomoniasis.
