Homelessness is becoming an increasing problem in the Oshkosh area. In the region, 550 households meet the federal definition of homelessness and 172 are considered at risk of homelessness, plus 181 children, in the latest count by ADVOCAP last July. The Tiny House Village is designed to get families on the verge of homelessness back on their feet and into stable housing after a year or two. A typical house is 400 square feet with two small bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and small living area. The 32-house village currently has 23 families on the waiting list.
