Feieromd - German Evening Folk Song [Piano+Lyrics]

Feiromd (Feierabend) is one of the most famous folk songs of the Ore Mountains. It was written by the folk poet Anton Günther and was written in 1903.

The song romanticises the Feierabend, the end of the day in German culture. In the stanzas, the calm and tranquil environment, the joy of going home to loved ones, and well-being are romantically and eloquently described. It is often played at funeral ceremonies in the Erzgebirge. Often in the last stanza the word "grave" (Grab) is replaced by "forest" (Wald).
