Lou Grassi is recognized in traditional and avant-garde jazz, performing from Ragtime to No-Time. He has toured with pianist Max Morath and leads the Dixie Peppers. Grassi has collaborated many notable artists including Marshall Allen, Billy Bang, Karl Berger, Rob Brown, Roy Campbell, Charles Gayle, Burton Greene, Urbie Green, Gunter Hampel, Guenter Heinz, Fred van Hove, Joseph Jarman, Sheila Jordan, Perry Robinson, Roswell Rudd, John Tchicai, Steve Tintweiss among others, appearing on over 100 recordings, with more than 30 as a leader.
