Purdue Applied Generative AI Specialization

Saumitra Mani Tiwari had always been a seeker of knowledge, of challenges, and of growth. Born into a close-knit family of four, his journey began in Jaipur, where curiosity sparked early. By the eighth grade, he had already developed a taste for tackling the unknown, a mindset that would guide him through life.

After completing his B.Tech. and a Master’s in Information Technology in 2011, he started his professional journey with Fujitsu Consulting. Over the next 14 years, he rose through the ranks, ultimately becoming Associate Director at Solid Labor India. But titles never dulled his hunger to learn.

Life wasn’t without setbacks he lost his grandmother young and faced professional ups and downs. Still, Saumitra leaned into every challenge with resilience and faith. "Give your best and leave the rest to God," he believed.

The world was changing, and so was technology. Despite his experience, he realized the need to adapt. Surrounded by younger colleagues well-versed in AI, Saumitra decided it was time to evolve again. A cold call in 2016 had introduced him to Simplilearn, and years later, he enrolled in their Applied Generative AI Specialization.

The experience was transformational. Python, once abstract, became a powerful tool. The course structure, expert mentors, and exposure to global peers enriched his understanding. Today, as an SAP Support Manager at Aprezia, he uses Generative AI daily, streamlining code, creating documents, and saving time. Outside work, he remains rooted, traveling with family, playing sports, and running. Injuries paused some hobbies, but never his spirit.

His message is clear: “It’s never too late. Keep learning. If you love your work, learning is how you do it right.”
