Leopard Tortoise (Stigmochelys pardalis) | Herping South Africa - Montagu

The Leopard Tortoise can be found in souther and eastern Africa, and is the 4th largest species of tortoise in the world. The leopard tortoise's name is due to the impressive markings on it's shell, which resembles that of a leopard.

With a life expentancy of 80 to 100 years, these is an absolutely amazing species and I was very lucky to have found such a big Leopard Tortoise during my herping trip in South Africa.
