Rolls Royce La Rose Noire Droptail – Gorgeous two seat roadster at over $30M

Rolls-Royce has unveiled one of the world's most expensive and exclusive cars, with a price tag exceeding $30 million. The company has named this one-of-a-kind masterpiece 'La Rose Noire Droptail,' which means black rose and represents the first of four distinct Rolls-Royce Droptail commissions.

The design of the car draws inspiration from romance and the captivating allure of the Black Baccara Rose. The roadster seats two and comes with a removable hardtop made from carbon fiber and electrochromic glass that alters the amount of light entering the interior at the touch of a button.

The car features an intricate parquetry design, marking the most complex expression of this technique in Rolls-Royce history. Skilled artisans hand-finished and placed a staggering 1,603 pieces of wood over nearly two years to achieve this intricate result.

The commission extends beyond the car itself, with a matching Champagne Chest designed to showcase the clients' exclusive vintage. Additionally, the car includes a removable luxury timepiece from luxury Swiss firm Audemars Piguet, which doubles as both a dashboard clock and - once released from a clasp mechanism - a wristwatch using a stored strap.

The creation of the car involved a meticulous exterior paint process that underwent 150 iterations to achieve perfection. This attention to detail exemplifies Rolls-Royce's pursuit of excellence. And the car, like the flower, changes color according to how it is viewed, and in the right light also exudes a dark shade of red.
