Ever wondered why the Dutch bow before drinking? We headed to Wynand Fockink, Amsterdam’s oldest liqueur distillery and tasting room, to try it out!

In this video, we explore the fascinating history of traditional Dutch liqueurs; The Dutch take their liqueurs so seriously that they hold a place of honour at the center of every special occasion. We take part in the bowing ritual, taste-test a variety of flavors based on ancient recipes, and learn how these traditions have been preserved for centuries at this historic distillery.
