Issa Rae is “one of the first black women to create and star in a premium cable series and potentially the hardest-working person in Hollywood” (The Guardian). The Emmy-nominated writer and producer created the HBO series “Insecure” after her hit web series (and bestselling book of the same name) “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.”

In 2018, Issa was named one of “Time” magazine’s 100 most influential people. “Fast Company” included her on its Most Creative People list. She made her film debut in the acclaimed drama “The Hate U Give.” In 2020, she starred in “The Lovebirds” and “Coastal Elites.”
