My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words (Guitar Cover)

Описание к видео My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words (Guitar Cover)

I've been asked a lot, over the years, if I ever listened to modern music in my life, and of course the answer is yes. Although my tastes were defined early on by bands like Def Leppard and Queen, of melodic style rock, I did like the odd band that were popular in my teenage years. At the age of 15 in 2006, there were a lot of guitar bands around but not many that I liked. If you wanted riffs and more technical stuff you had to go a bit heavier and listen, to say, Killswitch Engage (who I did also like). But, if you wanted more 'pop melodic' songs, you had to listen to the 'punk' bands of the time that were popular, like Green Day, but then the guitars weren't as interesting, to me. So when My Chemical Romance came out with Black Parade, it seemed to satisfy my needs right at that moment. I remember my initial impressions were that I thought the bleach blond hair of Gerard Way was cool (something I wanted to do but never did, and now I can't haha) and that they seemed less 'emo' than what I had heard before from them. But it wasn't until hearing this song come on a music channel that I got really floored by them. I love this track so much, it made me buy the album and I used to listen to the ending on repeat. It's got a hell of a chorus hook, plenty of guitar parts and a nice challenging solo. There's a lot of the typical 'octave' style guitar work which was common back then but I don't mind.

So, maybe a little bit different to what I would usually do on here but I hope you can appreciate why I like this song, and maybe there's some out there who like it too.

I use a Jackson DK2 Dinky from 2004 (I removed the tone pot and moved the volume over) into a Boss Me50 (where I get my tone) into a Palmer Pdi-09 (which simulated a mic'd up cab) into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X (where I add a little EQ and Reverb).

My headphones are purposely like that so they stay out of the way. The cable is very long.

I'll be uploading my notation notes to my Patreon here   / bwm5150   and if you are looking for custom tutorial content, then message me there or at my email [email protected] . Let me help you get playing the music you love!
