Leslie Uggams- Let The Music Play (1968)

Описание к видео Leslie Uggams- Let The Music Play (1968)

Leslie Uggams's 1968 rendition of the Burt Bacharach/ Hal David song "Let The Music Play" or "Make The Music Play" (in Dionne Warwick's case.) This song was originally recorded by Dionne Warwick in 1962 and I believe it to be the original version released as both a single and included on her first album, "Presenting Dionne Warwick" which was released on February 10, 1963. Some sources say The Drifters' version was original, but websites say that their version was released in March of 1963, which was a month after Dionne's version was released on her first album.

LYRICS-

Let the music play
Just a little longer
Just a little longer
Let me hold him in my arms
Let me thrill to all his charms
A little longer
Make the music play
Just a little slower
Just a little slower
Let me hear his tender sighs
Let me look into his eyes
A little longer

Make the music play
Keep this magic going
Keep those trumpets blowing
All through the night

Don't ever skip a beat or
He may slip away
And if we were parted
I'd be broken-hearted
Till he's in my arms to stay
Forever and all day

Please let the music play
Till he's in my arms to stay
Forever and all day
Please let the music play
(Just a little longer)
Let the music play
(Just a little longer)
Let the music play
(Just a little longer)
Let the music play
