Each year, the Space Universities Network (SUN) organises a half-day workshop, to bring together UK higher education teaching staff and space industry members. The 2023 workshop was hosted at the University of Birmingham with the theme: "AI in Space Teaching".

About the Speaker:
Dr Maggie Lieu (@SpaceMog ) is a research fellow in Machine Learning and Cosmology at the University of Nottingham where she applies machine learning and statistics on clusters of galaxies to learn about the dark Universe.
She lectures the Machine Learning in Science MSc and supervises student projects in the program, this talk will cover an overview of the course and some of the successful projects we have run with a particular focus on space and astronomy applications.

About the Talk:
This talk gives an introduction to AI in the space sector and covers projects currently being undertaken at the University of Nottingham at MSc level.

The Space Universities Network (SUN) aims to enhance the quality of learning and teaching by providing support and resources to the higher education space science and engineering community. We wish to help create a skilled workforce of graduates who can meet the challenges of future space exploration and exploitation. This is one of a series of Space industry webinars aimed at University staff and students.
