Hey everyone, thanks for tuning into the string showdown featuring the Martin SPs and Daddario XTs in phosphor bronze. I have been producing a lot of videos featuring the XTs but it seems that there is a big demand to hear more Martin strings in these showdowns. Phosphor bronze strings are 92% copper and about 8% tin. It has trace amounts of phosphorus which lends itself to be a little bit more corrosion resistant. Phosphor bronze is know to be a little warmer with a mid range bump compared to 80/20 strings. Some say they are just an overall more balanced string as far as tone goes.

I recorded all of these demos the exact same way as to keep all things consistent but I do encourage you to listen to these demos with a good pair of headphones. This way you can experience the full audio fidelity between these sets of strings. Some of the characteristics might be lost just listening through laptop speakers.
