Japanese Dining 101 - Learn the Basic Traditional Table Arrangement | Tableware Names and Functions

How much do you know about Japanese dining and tableware? I actually know nothing when I first came to Japan except for the rice bowl, soup bowl and chopsticks. 😅 I remember few times when I tried to set up a traditional Japanese meal at home 3 years ago, my husband would tell me that I arranged the dishes in a wrong way. That rice should be here and soup should be there, etc.

In this video, I will share with you what I learned about Japanese table set up, basic components, tableware names and it's uses. You might remember some in this video the next time you visit a Japanese restaurant. You can also use this video as a guide to pull up traditional Japanese dining in your own home. 😊
