A common rebuttal to theism is that we argue from what we don't know. In other words, when we can't explain something, we throw God in. This is called the "god of the gaps" argument. Where there's a gap, we insert God.

In this video I give three reasons why trying to disprove theism by claiming theists use a "god of the gaps" argument doesn't work.

1. We argue from what we know, not what we don't know
2. We have revelation
3. Nontheists can be susceptible to the same fallacy

Thinking theists and Christians understand that "god of the gaps" is a fallacy. We have positive reasons to believe God. While atheists may not agree with these reasons, we do have them.
