Jacob Ciachir is a competition in horse riding and celebrates the history of equestrianism and the role of horses in the history of Ungheni, Moldova. This event occurs every year during the beginning of September and includes professional riders from the Republic of Moldova and students from the Ungheni Horse Riding School. This video is a combination of videos from the events of the day, demonstrating the course of events throughout the day and to hopefully inspire you to visit Moldova.

Ungheni is the seventh largest city in Moldova located on the border of Romania and the Prut River. It was once the major site for horse breeding, racing, and competitions during the Soviet Union.

Moldova is a country in Eastern Europe that was once part of the Soviet Union and is now applying for entering the European Union. Within the country are many forests, wineries, and rocky hills that draw in tourists for wine tasting and hiking. It is also a linguistically diverse country shared with many populations.
