Refractometers are used to measure the reflective index of materials such as gemstones.

Here I'm using the refractometer to find out the R.I of Tourmaline which is 1.62-1.65.

Gemstones have properties such as
1. Optical properties
2. Physical properties
3. Chemical properties

We have a basic gemstone workshop coming up 22nd December at 9.30am-5pm at Far East Gemological Institute.
