This song has been recorded by numerous artists, including Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Mel Tormé, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, and Frank Sinatra. This version by Simone, however, is the most successful. Oddly enough, both the song and Simone received a resurgence in popularity after her recording was used in a popular perfume commercial in the UK in 1987. This publicity sent the song to #5 in the UK charts.
