This is what teachers really want for a teacher appreciation gift!

1. A heartfelt thank you note written by either the parent or the student

2. Gift Cards

Of course no matter what you do, teachers feel appreciative that you are appreciating them, so disregard this list of dos and don'ts if you want to!

I'm just seeing a lot of people ask so I thought I would answer from a teacher's point of view!

I know that some schools will give out a list of the teacher's loves and that's always fun to get exactly what they like! I personally have had students give me personalized gifts based on my hobbies and interests and that was lovely!

As a parent, I try to avoid giving the following teacher gifts, things they have to keep alive (plants-unless they truly love plants!), generic mugs, #1 teacher/world's best teacher items, home baked goods (can't always trust that they are safe to ingest :), strong scented soaps, elaborate crafts that they will feel bad tossing, and alcohol.

If I'm looking to jazz up a gift of a gift card and note, I throw in some gummy bears, some lightly scented showers, and some chocolate.

The teachers in my kids lives spend so much time with them and work really hard to help shape them into humans they are, so I try to appreciate them the best I can!
