Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of Qualifier 2 of Caribbean Premier League 2023 featuring Jamaica Tallawahs up against Guyana Amazon Warriors live from Providence Guyana. We are just two games away from knowing the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 champions. Jamaica Tallawahs, the defending champions have the date set with Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Qualifier-2 at Providence Stadium in Guyana.

The Tallawahs are having a great season all of a sudden and seem to be peaking at the right time in the competition. They are on the back of three consecutive wins with the latest being against St Lucia Kings in the Eliminator 1. They finished the points table with nine points from ten matches, winning four of them. One of their games was rain-washed. A couple of triumphs followed five back-to-back losses in the group stages and hence the Jamiaca-based franchise could make it to the Playoffs.

On the flip side, Guyana finished at the top of the points table in the league stages with 17 points from ten matches. They lost just a solitary game against the Kings. Unfortunately, they faced a defeat against Trinbago Knight Riders in the Qualifier 1 assignment and therefore find themselves in a must-win clash against the Tallawahs.

Mohammad Amir had some issues in the eliminator and walked off the field bowling only 3 balls. His fitness is still a concern for Jamaica. Plenty of all-rounders on display and Guyana have the home advantage. Can they take it and move to the finale or will Jamaica get another step closer in their title defense?

It's the race to the finals with the winner facing Trinbago Knight Riders in the final in a couple of days time. The defending champions Tallawahs know when to peak at the right time while the Warriors have been the best side in the league stage and must recover now to make it into the finals. Which way is it going to go?

Brandon King (Jamaica Tallawahs Captain): "We will bowl first. We looked at what happened last year and the last year's memory will help us getting better. Hope to do well and reach yet another final here. Yes, Amir is playing and is fit. We are playing the same side."
