Country flags are needed everywhere. I will show you how can we use royalty free flag images in different formats like, PNG, WebP, SVG, JPEG and different file sizes. Search for site flagpedia. We have got countries flags, not just the country flags, we have flags of world's popular organizations, U.S. States flags, and emoji flags. We have icon images of flags, bitmap images, vector images and site has embed & API help page. Embed PNG, WebP, SVG or JPEG country flags in website. Choose wavy flag, or simple. Same height or same width flags option is also available. Select file format, height or width of flags, size of flags and use the image source. We have list of country codes with names in JSON file.

To display simple flag image in SVG format we can use IMG tag and for the source we can use country code in image name. All we have to use country code for the flag as name of image in image source. We have taken a variable containing array of items. Array items include country codes that we need to display country flags as images.

These are country codes as items in array stored in a variable named as countryCodes. These may contain extra codes but you can adjust these according to your needs. You can download such list by searching easily. Search for country codes list in javascript array and you will find it. Country code letters are in small case. We can use these codes to display flags. We need country code in image name to display flag. Next we can use Array map method to iterate through list of country codes to display all flags of the world.

Then we have JSON file containing country names and country codes. We can import JSON file in React project, use map method to display country name and use country code to use in image name to display relevant flags. You can also get such countries data by searching easily. This JSON file has objects containing name and code keys with country name and code values.

We had to convert country code to lower case to make it work. Our API needs lower case name for the image file. Also I have used index for unique key value prop. It is not a good practice. Use any other better solution for unique key value prop, such as UUID package. Also do not use inline styles. For tutorial's sake I can use such things to quickly demonstrate something but there are always better ways to do stuff, right?

So this is a free resource for country flags with CDN support and here are few ways to use these flags images in simple project or in ReactJS app or by using JavaScript. This is one way of using flags in project. There are packages to have flag icons in projects also. You can also explore options from npmjs for country flags libraries or packages to use in React projects.
