The Northwest Multiple Listing Service (NWMLS) is the third-leg in a stool that provides support for, and guides the actions and business of selling real estate in Washington. Washington laws and the Realtors Association(s) are the other two legs.

The NWMLS creates the mechanism that provides sellers an orderly system to offer their home or property for sale, gaining maximum exposure under a set of governing principles and policies to protect both, them, the buyers and firms by leveling the playfield. The NWMLS is owned and operated by its member firms, now over 2000 and their 24,000 plus brokers, collectively offering more than 36,000 properties for sale (at the making of this video blog post).
