ED (Enforcement Directorate) and CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) are the two most prominent investigative agencies in India. ED is tasked with enforcing economic laws and combating economic crimes in India. From money laundering to foreign exchange violations, ED plays a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity.

CBI on the other hand is India’s premier investigative agency, handling a wide range of cases from corruption to high-profile criminal investigations.

Stay tuned and try to answer the following questions as we proceed ahead with this insightful session:
Q1: Discuss the mandate of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Enumerate major challenges that ED faces in discharging its duties. Suggest some reforms to enhance its performance.
Q2: How far has ED been effective in combating economic crimes in India? Critically analyze. Suggest a way forward.
Q3: The jurisdiction of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding lodging an FIR and conducting a probe within a particular state is being questioned by various States.
