Okay, now I know I haven't made any new reviews lately, I've been extremely busy over the last three and half weeks so we're going to try to make a few quick reviews to catch up, first up Open Grave.

Now this movie came out in January and it didn't come out in a mass release so it took me awhile to track it down. This is a lower budget film that stars one of my favourite actors, Sharlto Copely, who played the bad guy in Elysium, Old boy and the main character in District Nine. And it tells the tale of a guy who wakes up in this mass open grave, his body is all stiff he can't remember anything, his name, his past and this mute lady helps him out. They then go to this house and meet other people who also have no memory, and they all try to work to piece together the clues of who they all are, and what's going on.

This movie is billed as a horror, thriller and first of all I have to say that this worked for me. The acting Sharlto Copely always brings it to the table. The script doesn't give him much to work with but watching him try to unravel the mystery there are some payoff's there.

The directing, I'm not familiar with this guy's work it's mostly foreign language stuff, but I liked the feeling of this movie, I liked the color pallet they used. It had this nice post apocalyptic feel to it, with it just starting off in this big pit of dead bodies, that gets reused a couple of times.

I liked the twist at turns the story had, I mean ya you can figure out what's going on about half way through but it is compelling enough to keep you interested, it wraps up nicely in the end. It's something I can't talk too much about without spoiling stuff so, I mean overall if you like if you like lower budget indie films, this one has bit of a horror element to it, if that's what you like this one should be right up your ally.

Let give this a score, the acting was good but I can't give a full point because there was nothing exceptional in it. I'll give half a point, directing I'll give a full point, story a full point and half a point for cinematography, that's three out of 5 for technical points.
