What are the challenges, risks, and rewards to starting your own studio? Join us for a discussion with the folks who've taken the plunge and opened the doors to game studios in NYC. Moderated by Coray Seifert (Kaos Studios, Experiment 7, and others), we'll be discussing the topic with a panel of local experts:

Demetri Detsaridis – Massively Mobile, AreaCode, Zynga, Rockstar, Experiment 7, and Madison Square Garden's MSG Interactive.

James Gonsalves – Founder of TinMoon Studios and Keybound.

Roland Lesterlin – Co-founder of Avalanche Studios NYC, Defiant Studios, and People Can Fly NYC.

Following the panel discussion is a presentation from Empire State Development. Their mission is to promote a vigorous and growing state economy, encourage business investment and job creation, and they'll show how they can assist start ups through the efficient use of loans, grants, tax credits, real estate development, marketing and other forms of assistance.

A question and answer period will follow each discussion and audience participation is encouraged.
