Marvel has unleashed their first female-led superhero film. Captain Marvel is a story about a lost past, an uncertain future, and a woman's self discovery. While being the last hero origin we get before the inevitably huge fallout of the events of Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel also is the beginning of shepherding in a new generation of characters to lead the MCU into the future. Does this film succeed on any of the goals it has set for itself or is this a forgettable MCU film whose controversy was bigger than the movie itself?
