Adenium - The Rose of the desert

Who does not love them!! When they are in flower, they are beautiful. For yearround cultivation they are a mess. How can we respect their need for heat? We have to keep them in Europe in two distinct phases: Vegetative rest: during autumn, let them dry out and slowly go into a "dormancey". They will loose all leafs and be naked for the coming 4-5 months. Dry and cold, this is very important. In late spring, when you can assure them temperatures above 20°C, start slowly watering and wait for them to develop the first leafs. Then place them in one of the hottests spots you have, water and fertilize them regularly and they will flower in mid summer!! Cultivation is very similar to Cacti. Wish you success!
