This is because of the tweets overnight from Trump wanting to push the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates. But, there is more to this than just lowering interest rates. As China stops buying US dollar-denominated debt, they are instead acquiring gold. Then, those parties selling the gold to china are selling off the US dollar. As the dollar gets lower, this increases inflation. The bond market is surging as well.
