BIICL Global Toolbox on Corporate Climate Litigation : Nigeria Conference

The Nigeria Conference of the Global Toolbox on Corporate Climate Litigation took place on 2 May 2024. It was convened by the BIICL National Rapporteur for Nigeria, Dr Uzuazo Etemire of the University of Port Harcourt. The speakers were: Dr Ayodele Morocco-Clark, Associate Professor of Law at Nile University, Nigeria; Dr Eghosa Ekhator, Senior lecture in Law at the University of Derby, UK, and member of the project's International Expert Group; Dr Irekpitan Okukpon, Lecturer in Law at the University of Bradford, UK.
The conference discussed the Toolbox research and the potential for its use in corporate climate litigation in Nigeria, while looking at the status of climate litigation in terms of causes of action, procedures and evidence, and remedies.
