The son of a WW-II veteran, tea-selling came to him as a playful fun time since a very tender age. As the providence of youth would have it, he aspired to be a doctor instead. But life had different plans for him.
He's a tea-seller, slum children educator, a regular blood donor since last 40 years and a Padma Shri awardee in a straight row.
Padma Shri D Prakash Rao shares with us his vision for the world, the story of his longtime service to the world, how he continues to inspire young generations despite his recent stint with a serious neurological problem and how he bounced back from illness.
Padma Shri awardee, Social educator, started Asha-O-Aswasana, the free school, for underprivileged children. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
