Practical Notes
If the remote control's batteries are dead and don't work after replacing them with new ones, repeat the setup process (match the code to the indoor unit). This may be necessary with each battery change.
If you won't be using the remote control for an extended period (e.g., more than a week), remove the batteries. Store it at room temperature.
If the remote control's display text doesn't appear after installing new batteries, the new battery may be old or the positive terminal is too short and not making contact with the battery compartment. When installing the batteries, the flat bottom of the battery should face the spring-loaded part of the remote control's battery compartment.
